Sales Policy
All testing, health certificate, crates, transport and associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
We reserve the right to retain any kid or adult at any time, for any reason. A non-refundable deposit of $200 per animal is required to hold available animals for up to 30 days. Boarding charges apply after 30 days, WITH prior arrangements. Without prior arrangements, all deposits are forfeited and the animal can be kept or sold. Cost for boarding will be assessed on an individual basis. Please contact us to discuss this ahead of time. Animals must be paid in full, including checks cleared, before they leave. We accept paypal, cash, or checks.
If you have questions about any of our animals, please reach out to use BEFORE sending deposits/purchasing animals.
Here's how our kid reservations/kidding schedule works:
-First, understand that we make breedings for ourselves, first and foremost. We usually retain quite a few kids each year for evaluation as milkers. We reserve the right to retain kids, whether there is a reservation, a lifetime of reservations, or none.
-We keep a list of people interested in kids by doe, and contact in the order that we receive them. Reservations are FREE right now, but buyers backing out is making that a little frustrating, so we may change this in the future.
-Being on the kid reservation list also means that if we have an adult animal that is an offspring of a particular goat you are interested in, we will most likely contact you first before offering it publicly.
-Reservations roll over year to year for each doe. We realize that you may not be interested in a kid from the current year's breeding to the doe you have a reservation on, and that is totally okay. If we know this ahead of time, we can make note of it, so we don't contact you or expect to sell kids then come up short with buyers later.
-Everyone is allowed up to one pass on a kid, meaning, if we offer it and you don't want that kid specifically, you can go back on the list for the next year, and keep your place in line. If you pass again though, you will be removed from the list. You would still, in that case, be allowed to purchase publicly offered animals from us, you just wouldn't be allowed to reserve kids ahead of time.
-Once your kid is born and is determined to be available, you will have 48 hours to confirm you would like it and send a deposit (see the top for pick up requirements/timing). All kids are raised on a strict disease prevention program (pulled at birth, heat treated colostrum, pasteurized milk) using bottles or lambars, unless otherwise noted.
Health Guarantee:
We try our best to ensure kids and adults are healthy when they leave our farm. Once an animal leaves our hands, we cannot be responsible for its health and well-being; this includes while in transit. We will replace/refund for pre-existing conditions or inability to breed that is not caused by management only. We test our whole herd annually for CAE (whole herd negative) and any new purchases are tested for Johnes, CL, and CAE. If a buyer would like additional testing done, we can do so at their expense. If a goat is travelling out of state, a health certificate/CVI is required by law and costs approximately $37 (or possibly a bit more, if my vet raises their fees). Please let us know if you need one. Some states require additional testing and that will mean additional fees. If there are any known pre-existing health conditions or conformation issue, those will be discussed before purchase. Your purchase then, would be acceptance of that condition.
Shipping:
We can airship out of Boise, ID, which is a 2 hour drive from us. With the extreme rising fuel costs, we will be charging $100 for the round trip to the airport now. 2 kids of similar size can ship in one crate to save on costs, if shipping to the same airport. Adult Nigerians can also be air shipped. Ground transportation options are available regularly. We also always welcome and even encourage pick up at the farm whenever possible, which gives you an opportunity to see relatives in person, living conditions, herd feeding/management, etc.
Wethers are priced at $100 each or 2 for $150. Registered doe and buck prices vary based on quality and pedigree. We do not sell unregistered does, except as pets, when we have determined that they will not positively influence the breed. We do not sell unregistered bucks, period; they will be wethered before leaving the farm.
