Sales Policy
All testing, health certificate, crates, transport and associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
New for 2024 and later: All bucks born after Jan 1, 2024 are required to have DNA on file in order to register their offspring. This means the buck himself does not have to have DNA on file to register him. They are not required to be parent verified, just individually typed. Since all of our bucks, and some of our does, are on file, they will automatically be parent verified against their sires (and some dams). Our plan is to pull hair from available buck kids, then order the test when they leave (to avoid spending unnecessary money if for some reason that kid doesn't get picked up). We will order and pay for the test for each buck kid sold, unless he is offered at a deeply discounted price (the buyer then will be responsible for paying for the test). We are always open to DNA typing (and health testing) any goat, at the buyer's expense.
Available animals:
A non-refundable deposit of half an animal's purchase price is required to hold available animals for up to 30 days. Deposits can only be refunded or moved to a new goat if the animal becomes sick, injured, or dies, or is retained by the seller for any other reason. Cost of boarding will be assessed on an individual basis. Boarding charges apply after 30 days, WITH prior arrangements. Please contact us to discuss this ahead of time. Animals must be paid in full, including checks cleared, before leaving. We accept PayPal, Venmo, cash, or checks.
If you have questions about any of our animals, please reach out to us BEFORE sending deposits/purchasing animals.
Kid reservations/kidding schedule:
-Please understand that we make breedings for ourselves, first and foremost. We usually retain quite a few kids each year for evaluation as milkers. We reserve the right to retain kids, whether there is a reservation, a lifetime of reservations, or none.
-We keep a list of people interested in kids by doe, and contact in the order that we receive them. Reservations are free.
-Once your kid is born, if it is available, you will have 48 hours to confirm you would like it and send a deposit (see the top for pick up requirements/timing), after which time we will offer to our next person in line.
-All kids are raised on a strict disease prevention program (pulled at birth, heat treated colostrum, pasteurized milk) using bottles or lambars, unless otherwise noted.
Health Guarantee:
We try our best to ensure kids and adults are healthy when they leave our farm. Once an animal leaves our hands, we cannot be responsible for its health and well-being; this includes while in transit. We will replace/refund for pre-existing conditions or inability to breed that is not caused by management only. We test our whole herd annually for CAE (whole herd negative) and any new purchases are tested for Johnes, CL, and CAE. If a buyer would like additional testing done, we can do so at their expense. If a goat is travelling out of state, a health certificate/CVI is required by law and costs approximately $45. Please let us know if you need one. Some states require additional testing and that will mean additional fees.
Shipping:
Air shipping is our preferred method to decrease stress on the animal. We can airship out of Boise, ID, which is a 2 hour drive each way for us. There is a $150 transport fee for fuel to/from the airport. 2 kids of similar size can ship in one crate to save on shipping costs. Adult Nigerians can also sometimes be air shipped. Ground transportation options are also available regularly. We always welcome and even encourage pick up at the farm whenever possible.
Registered doe and buck prices vary based on quality, pedigree, and demand. Wethers are available for a short time after they are born. We rarely sell unregistered does. We do not sell unregistered bucks, period; they will be wethered before leaving the farm.
