All testing, health certificate, crates, transport and associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
We reserve the right to retain any kid or adult at any time, for any reason. A non-refundable deposit of half the purchase price is required to hold available animals for up to 30 days. If prior arrangements have not been made by 30 days after deposit is received, the animal will be considered our property again. If arrangements have been made ahead of time, boarding charges will begin to apply on a daily basis, starting on day 31. Cost for boarding will be assessed on an individual basis. Please contact us to discuss this ahead of time. Animals will not leave our farm without full payment. We accept paypal, cash, or checks. Checks must be cleared before an animal can leave our possession.
An animal is not considered spoken for and will not be held for a buyer, until a deposit is made.
All of our goats are on DHIA testing and we participate in Linear Appraisal annually (when available). The scores and production records can be found on our website as we are able to update it, as well as ADGA Genetics website.
We try to be as clear and open as possible about all of our animals for sale. We want our buyers happy! We try our best to inform on any possible issues an animal may have and are always willing to answer questions. Please don't hesitate to ask as many questions as you need to to feel comfortable committing to purchase the animal.
Kid Reservations/kidding schedule:
If you would like to reserve a kid from our kidding schedule, we keep a list of interested parties and contact in the order that the reservation was received. Reservations are free. We always get first choice of all kids born. Once kids are born, buyers will be informed if one is available as soon as possible and our 30 day policy will apply.
In general, we bottle and lambar feed all kids and they are raised on a strict pasteurized rearing program. This is labor intense, but ensures our buyers not only that the kids will be friendly, but also provides an additional insurance against disease. Because of the labor involved and space constraints, we would prefer all sold kids leave within 30 days of birth as our blanket sales policy states, so please contact ahead of time if you know your reserved kid will not be leaving in this timeframe. There may be additional fees associated with kids staying beyond 30 days.
After all kids are spoken for, we will contact each person left on our list to ask if they would like to roll over their reservation to next year. The reservation list is also the first place we go if we have a milking daughter or older kid available out of the does on our kidding schedule.
We try our best to ensure kids and adults are healthy when they leave our farm. Once an animal leaves our hands, we cannot be responsible for its health and well-being; this includes while in transit. We will replace/refund for pre-existing conditions or inability to breed that is not caused by management only. We test our whole herd annually for CAE (whole herd negative) and any new purchases are quarantined and tested for Johnes, CL, and CAE. If a buyer would like additional testing done, we can do so at their expense. If a goat is travelling out of state, a health certificate/CVI is REQUIRED and costs approximately $37 (or possibly a bit more, if my vet raises their fees). Some states require additional testing and that will mean additional fees. If there are any health issues existing before purchase, we will discuss those with the buyer and buyer can decide if the animal is still a good fit.
We can airship out of Boise, ID, which is a 2 hour drive from us. Starting this year, we will be charging $70 for our trip to and from the airport. If there are multiple goats needing transport to the airport, we will attempt to combine them for shipping on the same day and split costs. 2 kids of similar size can ship in one crate to save on costs, if shipping to the same airport. Even adult Nigerians can sometimes be air shipped. Ground transportation options are available regularly; we recommend using Blarney Heights Farm Transport or 5 Star Livestock Transport, both of whom can be contacted on Facebook. We also always welcome and even encourage pick up at the farm whenever possible, which gives you an opportunity to see relatives in person, living conditions, herd feeding/management, etc.
Wethers are priced at $100 each or 2 for $150. Registered doe and buck prices vary based on quality and pedigree. We do not sell unregistered does, except as pets, when we have determined that they will not positively influence the breed. We do not sell unregistered bucks, period; they will be wethered before leaving the farm.
